In areas of conflict, children suffer incredibly from sexual exploitation, disease, loss of education, families and futures and represent half of war casualties. Breakthrough Partners and Christian Action for Reconciliation and Social Assistance (CARSA), a Rwandan ministry, are working together to give a helping hand to thousands of Rwandan children still experiencing the negative effects of the 1994 genocide.
This partnership, known as High-5 Rwanda, is engaging education centers established in over 500 local churches. Each church will work with approximately 100 preschool children, a total of over 50,000 in the two initial districts of focus.

Breakthrough Partners’ involvement in High-5 Rwanda is to facilitate the publishing of the curriculum, training of the teachers and oversight of the program. The Optivest Foundation will help to provide funding toward establishing this foundation for a positive value system to shape Rwandans for decades to come.
